As a part of the Urban Land Institute’s Real Estate Diversity Initiative (ULI REDi), team member Molly Dalsin worked with peers of various disciplines in real estate and development to ideate, research, and test development opportunities within the Harrison neighborhood in Minneapolis.  As a group we discussed neighborhood implications, did market analysis, created and tested proformas, conceptualized the architecture and site design, and challenged one another’s preconceptions for multifamily affordable housing.  Through working with people from different disciplines and backgrounds, we determined key takeaways and opportunities for growth within the development process - both that which can change our physical built environment towards a more equitable future, and that which can create equal opportunity for those looking to enter the development field.
