Patterson Place, once the MacKenzie Hotel, has stood as a testament to innovation and entertainment since its inauguration on New Year's Day 1911. Infusing new life into its historic bones, The Schuett Companies, in collaboration with AWH Architects, embarks on a journey to transform this landmark into an affordable housing haven with a touch of hospitality.

Beyond its historic façade, Patterson Place emerges as a beacon of community-centric design. The revitalized space now houses 117 affordable apartment units, fostering a sense of belonging and community. The commitment to social sustainability extends to three stories of communal spaces, including a rooftop terrace, offering residents not just shelter but a vibrant living experience.

The essence of Patterson Place lies in its rich history, a narrative skillfully woven into its revitalization. The project, anchored in the value of reuse, rejuvenates the two main exterior facades, preserving the architectural heritage that stood as a pioneer in North Dakota. This renewal isn't just about preserving the past; it's about ensuring the historic Peacock Alley continues to echo with the laughter and stories of generations.

While honoring its past, Patterson Place looks towards a sustainable future. Upgrades in energy efficiency, sustainability initiatives, and thoughtful interventions bring light, space, and contemporary comfort to community areas, enriching the lives of residents while preserving the charm of this historic landmark.

Embedded within Patterson Place is the iconic Peacock Alley—a restaurant, bar, and event space. This isn't just a culinary experience; it's a journey through time. The reinvigorated Peacock Alley seamlessly integrates historic references, offering patrons a taste of the past in a modern setting.
